In the story, it seems the Stranger Things kids are in New York City and stumble upon strange sounds coming from the subway tunnels. They investigate and encounter the Stranger Things' monsters but their fused with Mouser technology. Just as Eleven is about to use her powers, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles jumps in to fight the creatures. And these versions of the turtles look strikingly like the original Mirage Comics Ninja Turtles from the 80's. All red masks and everything. This pays tribute to the early Mirage comics (as indicated by artist, Fero Pe), as in the timeline of Stranger Things, they haven't reached 1987 when the original TMNT cartoon came out, so the Mirage Ninja Turtles would be the only version that exists.
In the preview, Raphael, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Donatello showcase their distinct personalities as they interact with the Stranger Things kids.
The turtles reassure the kids, acknowledging their fear while emphasizing that they are there to help, not to cause harm. Their banter adds humor and highlights their mission of assistance.
The first issue of the crossover comic, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Stranger Things #1, will be released on July 12th. Fans can expect an action-packed adventure merging these two beloved franchises.
